In Hebrews 9, starting in about verse 13, it says, for if the blood of bulls and goats

and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifiance of the purifying of the flesh,

how much more the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself without

spot to God,

purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

And for this cause, he is the mediator of the New Testament,

that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions

were made under the First Testament

that they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

There are essentially two historical events on planet Earth.

The first one is the creation of man.

If man hadn't been created, no human history. Well, yeah, duh.

Number two, the redemption of man. God in his infinite wisdom created man with imperfections.

Now man was not created in sin. He was created sinless, but he certainly was not perfect.

He was subject to being led astray, and in fact was led astray.

And he needed redemption.

And the Redeemer came, lived for 30-some years, did very specific things during that time period, according to a

celestial schedule, according to calendrical events, according to historical events, at a time
