Zephaniah 1.14, The Great Day of the Lord, Zefaniah 114, The Great Day of the Lord is near, it's near, hasteth greatly even the voice

of the day of the Lord.

Now the wording here is not that the day of the Lord has already come, it is that it is near.

This is written to people who would be alive prior to the tribulation.

And it's specifically addressed to Israel. Does Israel read and understand the minor prophets today?

Perhaps at some level, yes, because their own sages have been telling them since the ninth century

or so that there was coming the time of Jacob's trouble, which would bring judgment to the

nations. But I don't think they really, really understand prophecy in the sense that we do,

knowing that the church is a reality and the church is a fulfillment of prophecy.

So Zeppaniat 114, the Great Day of the Lord is near. It's near. It hasteth greatly, even the voice

of the day of the Lord, the mighty men shall cry there bitterly. It's a day of wrath. And we went through

that whole litany last week of all the names he gives.

Trumpet, alarm, distress, men walking like blind men.

Nothing can deliver them.

Verse 18 of Zefinae I.01 says, neither shall their silver or their gold be able to deliver

them in the day of the Lord's wrath.

And then we concluded on the verses that begin chapter two.

Chapter two says, gather yourselves together, and I wanted to go through this again
