The harvest festivals in the Jewish calendar

begin at unleavened bread, first fruits,

and they go through Pentecost, Shavu Oat, the Feast of Weeks.

The barley harvest begins that first fruits.

And then you go 50 days to Shavuot and you get to the weak harvest.

You finish the grain harvest in the early part of the summer. The idea of the harvest of souls

being the type of redemption is carried to great lengths in the Bible.

Last week we looked at the trumpets, that is the trumpet of Pentecost.

We began a study of Pentecost when the trumpet sounded over Mount Sinai,

and certain things began to happen.

Next week, we're going to conclude that idea of the sounding of the trumpet. But really in the middle of our study, we're going to look at the book of

Ruth as a type both of Pentecost and the harvest. Ruth is a Gentile bride.

You have to remember, first and foremost, that she is a Gentile.

I mean, if you don't remember anything else,

you've got to remember not only is Ruth a Gentile.

She comes from a tribe of people who were considered to be the scum of the earth,

the Moabites. Back in the days of Ruth, if you recall, the Moabites were the offspring,

the descendants of Lot. And they worshipped Kimosh. Kosh was the God that demanded child sacrifice. You know,
