| 0:18.0 | Promised last week in our continuing study of Revelation to talk about the Millennium |
| 0:24.4 | and the events surrounding the Millennium. |
| 0:28.9 | And I would preface this by saying that the Millennium is a controversial subject in Christendom |
| 0:35.9 | at large. Most of Christendom worldwide is either post-millennial, |
| 0:42.3 | meaning that they believe that millennium has already passed and that we'll be moving |
| 0:49.3 | forward into a golden age or that there is no millennium at all and that the role of the church is |
| 0:57.5 | to reconstruct the world. But as far as future prophecy, as far as the details of events that |
| 1:05.4 | lie in the future, they are not interested because they think that all of the interesting |
| 1:09.9 | things have already happened in the past. |

| 1:32.6 | 1,000 years with the Lord as a day, and a day is a thousand years. Peter even repeated that in his |
| 1:37.8 | second epistle. The idea of a millennium being a day lays out human history in six millennia, 6,000 years, |
| 1:47.0 | and at the end of that 6,000 years there will be another millennium, and that will be the |
| 1:53.0 | millennium of the Golden Age. |
| 1:56.0 | So all the apostles believe the millennial day theory. |
| 2:00.0 | I'm absolutely convinced to that. Even Gibbons in his decline and fall of the Roman Empire, if you've read that, you know that he covers some of the belief systems of the apostles as reported in secular history. And Gibbons devotes quite a bit of time to the fact that the apostles and their followers believed |
| 2:21.4 | that one day with the Lord was a literal thousand years. |
