Well, this is our second week in a study which I have called things hard to be understood.

And I took that phrase from 2 Peter 316.

As also in all his epistles, Peter's referring to Paul here,

speaking in them of these things in which are some things hard to be understood.

Peter references Paul's letters, and he says, speaking in them, that is in those letters,

of some of these things.

These things refers to what Peter's talking about in his letter, in which are some things

hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable rest or twist,

as they do also the other scriptures under their own destruction.

Now we're asking a question, and we're in the process of asking this question, which will be asking over the next few weeks,

what's the big deal about Bible doctrine?

There are a lot of churches that don't pay a lot of attention to Bible doctrine other than the basics. Salvation, the elements of

salvation, basic growth in Christ or shepherding, and to some degree studies in the kingdom,

the kingdom to come, kingdom of heaven, kingdom on earth.

They may touch on these things a little bit here, a little bit there.

We try to go in depth, but what's a big deal?
