We are going to continue now in the book of Revelation.

As we have been going for several weeks, we're going to continue to look at the great vials of wrath

that will be poured out during the tribulation time and the reasons for their being poured out.

Last week, I mentioned that we would be dealing with a very difficult question this week.

Maybe one of the most difficult questions in the entire Bible.

And it has to do with Babylon, probably not a human being alive who hasn't heard the word Babylon in some context.

I mean, you don't even have to be a Christian, you don't have to have looked into the Bible

to be familiar with the basic idea of Babylon as a world power and as an ancient power in the Middle East.

Babylon is today's Iraq,

and today's Baghdad, the city of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq,

is about 60 miles north of ancient Babylon,

which sits on the desert in ruins, with the small exception of the

fact that Saddam Hussein attempted to rebuild Baghdad a few years ago, and he was going to make

it a huge tourist center. His idea was to restore it, to bring parts of it back to the level that they actually held

when Babylon was great in the 7th century BC, and he wanted to make it one of the seven wonders

of the modern world.

Well, that never happened.

And today Babylon sits pretty much in ruins as it always has.
