The Bible speaks of redemption in terms of harvest.

And so today we're going to look at the prophecies in the parables.

Starting at Passover, and traditionally the second day of Passover,

the Jews began a count, and they count up to 50.

50 is Pentecost.

Now, the interesting thing is that when the Jews observe Passover,

on the second day after Passover,

that is on the 16th of Nissen,

two days after Passover begins,

they eat their last satyr,

they clean the plates, put everything away, they go into a

period of mourning. The Jews mourn for 33 days. And why do you suppose that they start mourning after

Passover? Well, from the days of the second temple, they remember what happened.

And what happened is that their temple was destroyed and that they're now in an official state of mourning. As a matter of fact, during the days of the Omer, the 33 days after Passover, the Jews traditionally study many books. This is one of them. It's called

Pirki Avut, which is the Ethics of the Fathers. I brought this to read something here in the

ethics of the fathers. There's a quote from Rabbi Gamaliel, Paul's teacher in the ethics of the

father. Well, the quote itself says, provide yourself with a teacher and remove yourself from doubt

and tithe not too much by guesswork.
