Hello everybody and welcome back to Revolutionary Left Radio. On today's episode we have my friend

0:11.7

and comrade Rhea on to talk about student organizing and then in the second half of our

0:16.6

discussion we talk about Indian politics, Modi, a little bit about the Naxalites and the

0:22.7

Communist Party of India, some feminist thinkers that have come out of India, how India is

0:28.1

responding to COVID-19 etc. So this is a sort of two-part conversation and the first part we

0:33.7

really talk about student organizing and in the second part we get into Indian politics,

0:38.6

communist movements in India, Hindu nationalism etc. So it's wide-ranging, compelling,

0:45.9

informative and fascinating. So I hope you enjoy this episode of my friend Rhea.

1:39.3

student at the University of Texas at Austin and I'm really looking forward to having a conversation

1:44.8

with you about my thoughts and politics. Absolutely and we're definitely honored to have you on. I know

1:50.2

you describe yourself as a Marxist-Leninist before we get into the questions. Could you maybe talk

1:54.7

a little bit about what events or experiences in your life sort of radicalized you or pushed you

1:59.9

towards the left in general but Marxism and Leninism specifically? Sure so this is kind of embarrassing

2:08.4

but I was a debater back in high school. I know other people have talked about that on the show

2:14.9

but one of the positive consequences of that was just kind of an introduction to a lot of like

2:19.5

critical theory, feminist authors, anti-capitalist authors and things like that. So that along with

2:26.7

the death of Trayvon Martin happened while I was in high school so that really like ignited
