I think you are a realist.

You know, I was telling my brother this on the phone and he was getting really bored.

But I thought it was a good point, which is that there is a certain sense in which the hive mind of pundantry, a political punditry, and I feel like you don't ever get stuck in that.

I think that the greatest danger of the Trump moment

is the way in which he has normalized so much that we normally wouldn't accept.

Right.

And I think that there is this deeply human need to see the world as normal, to see people as normal.

We even have a language that talks about that,

you know, they'll revert to normal.
