sin has changed.

ages and stages, and there's no better counsel than Paul's timeless wisdom in First Thessalonians

No matter your age or status in life, all of us need to

strengthen our grip on purity.

The words seem to leap off the page of a book I read some years ago.

The quote read, Christianity is supremely the champion of purity.

Theoretically, of course, that's true.

There's no power like the power of Jesus Christ to make a woman or a man pure. But that power is not

automatic. Even though we have this wonderful promise from the Lord in 1st Corinthians 1013,

the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience, and God is faithful.

He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.

When you were tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

I saw the reality of those words up close and personal many, many years ago when I

entered the Marine Corps. I learned through experience how the Lord always provided a way out

so that I could endure the temptations. But let me tell you, it was not easy.

The same year I finished my military service and was honorably discharged, the book I quoted from was published.

I can't help but relate the quote to my experience.
