Tucked away in Acts chapter 8 is a series of answers, not one answer, but a series of answers.

And I'd invite you to turn to the story that is recorded about a man named Philip, who was the Billy Graham of the first century. He was the

evangelist. I take it he was not a professional evangelist but was a gifted layman who was engaged in

the mainstream of life and God stopped him and led him to witness. Now the background of Acts 8, 26 is that there's been a revival in Samaria.

A massive movement of God and the momentum is contagious.

There was no reason whatsoever for Philip, humanly speaking, as an evangelist, to leave Samaria. That was where the

action was. Super work of God was carried on in Samaria. Verse 25 tells us that the word of the

Lord was testified and spoken. They started back to Jerusalem and they were preaching the gospel to many

villages of the Samaritans and you don't read anything about resistance. These were Jews

preaching to the Samaritans. Verse 26, an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying,

Arise and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.
