Jesus says make disciples.

Jesus did make disciples.

But the question is, does it work? I mean, can anyone ultimately tell if you

have really been with Jesus? So that your roots were put down deeply and you caught a vision

of life like Christ? I'm glad you asked that. Look at the book of Acts

chapter 4 and I'll answer it for you. Chapter 4 verse 4. Now in Acts 4 we go to that time

when he has left the earth and the disciples are left to carry on.

And they are now the talk of the country.

Their strange ministry is revolutionizing the world in which they live.

And they are making the religious people terribly nervous, terribly uneasy.

So now a few of the hot shots, chapter four, with a squint eye, began to look at these strange disciples with a jaundiced eye.

Verse four, many of those who heard the message believed, and the number of the men came

to be about 5,000. And it came about

on the next day that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.

Notice the group, rulers, elders, and scribes. And Anas the high priest was there. And so was

Caiaphas. And so was John and Alexander, names we don't know, but familiar to those in that day.
