All right, so if you want to turn in your Bibles to Isaiah 35, we're going to be there for four weeks.

Isaiah 35 is a Messianic chapter.

You've heard of messianic verses.

A messianic verse is a verse in the Old Testament

which Jesus called the scriptures. Every time he referred to the scriptures, he was referring to the Old

Testament, the scriptures, okay. So it's a scripture that refers to the Messiah, that would be a messianic verse, but there are

a messianic chapters and Isaiah 35 is one. I was simply reading through it a

while back and it just struck four things hit me and

Isaiah says it this way this is what will happen when the Messiah comes now it's the

whole context he doesn't use those exact words, but when the Messiah

comes, this is what's going to happen to the nation of Israel and we know that we've been

grafted into Israel as believers. And as I was reading it I saw four things.

So I'll go through those four things. By the way, they all start with S, just because I'm very gifted at this.

But the first one is strength.

So we'll get to this, and I'm going to show you

that the Messiah brought strength. Now, I want to explain something to you though.

Let's first, I preached a few weeks ago on the cross. I know that was difficult for us as well to

hear and see what Jesus went through. But for a moment as a history timeline, let's say

that this podium here is the cross. And so if the history timeline is going from your left to your right,

Isaiah is looking forward to the cross.
