Today we're going to dive into the topic of war with the world or overcoming the world.

We must understand is the way temptation's work is this way, is that the devil sets up a blind date between the flesh and the world,

and he arranges that blind date. So when the flesh gets, you know, triggered by the world and the world gets triggered by the flesh,

behind the scenes is the enemy, the devil, Satan, the opposer, the one who resists us and our soul,

he is pulling all the strings.

And this idea that Christians have three enemies came a long time ago.

One of the church fathers, St. Thomas, on the Council of Trent,

he said the following that the flesh, the world, and the devil are the impeccable enemies of the soul.

The three sources of temptations have been described as the world, which is the indifference

and opposition to God's design, empty and passing values, the flesh, which is gluttony,

sexual immorality, are corrupt inclinations, disordered passions, and the devil, which is a real

personal enemy, a fallen angel, the Father of Lies, who labors in relentless malice to twist us from

our salvation. If you go with me to Matthew chapter 13, you will realize

that when the sower went out to sow, he sowed into four types of grounds. The first one was the hard

ground, the second one was the hallow ground, and the third one was the half ground. And so the first

ground shows the activity of the devil because the bird ate the seed.

So that's our first problem. First enemy is the devil.

The second ground is the hollow ground. It shows the activity of the flesh.

And the third ground is what we call the half ground.
