I am Scott Jansett. Join us always on these podcasts by Jeff Erickson. We appreciate you guys tuning in. If you could please rate or review the podcast to be fantastic. Also goes a long way towards helping people find the podcast, etc. Jeff, I know you want to talk about Trey Lance for an hour. We'll make you stick to baseball. How about that? Okay, okay. Yeah, I won't talk golf. I won't talk anything else. How was your trip, first of all? Just real quick. It was awesome. Nice. Year 26 of the trip. Last time I missed it was 2002. That's impressive. Stuff doesn't stay together that long. That's something to be proud about. That's stuff usually falls apart with kids in life and work and you know slowly crumbles that's really impressive you guys have kept you into for that long

0:57.4

yeah it's pretty cool and there you know there's you know we've all changed a little bit here

1:02.6

and there and we've added some subtracted some and we'll do that uh but the the cool thing too is though

1:08.5

that someday we'll probably have our offspring join us.

1:12.5

At least those, although I don't know.

1:15.5

I know, like, at least one of the guys, like both his kids play, his boy and his girl.

1:20.1

So hopefully that would be kind of cool.

1:22.7

Do your kids pick up the golf clubs at all?

1:24.7

We have gone to the driving range a few times. We haven't actually played around together. We'll probably do that at some point. Nice. Yeah. Well, let's jump into the baseball. I wanted to talk about, you know, we got six weeks left. I think I did the math right there. I want to talk to you a little about strategy in the final six weeks. We get a lot of people to ask me, you know, what do you do? How do you change what you do?

1:45.0

There was someone on Mark Kiefer on Twitter yesterday was talking about, you know,

1:47.9

at what point do you stop thinking about the overall if you play an overall competition? I told him the All-Star break. Maybe that's a bit early for some people, but I think that I think you have to be realistic with, you know, If you're 700th in the overall in the online or you're 150 in the main event,

1:45.1

like I just you're not going to win the overall.

1:46.8

You're not going to cash the overall.

1:47.7

It's time to be real stick and you can really attack your league and I you can you there are teams that you know can finish 100 overall be competitive league because you attack the right categories but what do you really go for you know as you're as it during these last six week what are you uh what do you really thinking about it in your league here, is trying to, try to make that money? Oh, I'm definitely trying to find the categories where I can gain points. Yeah. It's all about just honing in on that. I would, you know, unless you're just crushing your individual league, that's still my first focus. Me too. The overalls, I mean, I have no experience at winning an overall contest. So I don't really want to even try to speak from authority about that. But, you know, I just want to try to hone in on the categories that I need. It's no longer about just finding the best available players. I mean, it's still, sometimes it is. You still look for that, but let's face it. There's not too many of them out there. There's not too many of those big buys left. We had sale last week, and I think that was maybe the last triple-digit guy we're going to get. Yeah, a lot of that people don't have money either. I mean, the people that do, maybe you get somebody to get dropped. Maybe someone drops a closer who's, and that's an important thing, too.

3:09.2

Like, you talk about where you can gain. I think it's important to, like, drop guys where you can't gain or you can't lose, too. There's, you know, if you're 25 saves up, like, you know, you should be starting eight starters. You should be starting nine starter. You should be dropping your, say, your third or fourth closer.

3:06.2

You're never going to use.

3:07.0

They can't do anything for you because their, you know, saves is a huge part of their value. You should be starting nine starter. You should be dropping your, say, your third or fourth closer that you're never going to use.

3:24.9

They can't do anything for you because they're, you know, saves is a huge part of their value. And, you know, it saves and stolen bases are kind of the two where you get those specialized guys. If you're up 15 stolen bases, like maybe you don't need to pick up Nikki Lopez. Maybe you don't need to start, you know, Jorge Mateo if you picked him up, that sort of thing.

3:24.6

So it's a, it's really focusing.

3:26.1

And like you said, those categories, there if you picked him up that sort of thing so
