Summary

Well, it took more than one try, but the Crime Writers are getting it done with a well-rehearsed discussion on Netflix's newest breakout hit, "Stranger Things." It's like Stephen King and Steven Spielberg had a baby that was eight-episodes long. (Almost) no spoilers...except that it's freakin' awesome. We also debut a brand new segment: the TRUE CRIME ROUND-UP! We've got the latest on the Adnan Syed appeal and the Bowe Bergdahl court martial. The panel's sharp eyes turn back to HBO's "The Night Of." What was a straight murder mystery is now part prison story, part crime procedural. Half way through, is it losing focus or hitting its stride. ALSO: Watch for details on the first Crime Writers On live podcast. (Click here for a sort-of RSVP!) We'll wrap up our summer book club with an audience-participation discussion on Laura Lippman's Wilde Lake. We'll be at the the Hatbox Theater in Concord, NH September 6th. FREE ADMISSION. And we want a crowd to come and be interactive. We'll have audience participation. We take questions.

0:48.2

Well, of course, we'll take questions at best part free admission.

0:51.6

Free admission. Yeah, there's going to be a tip jar. If you want to throw something in to help pay all the texts who are there to turn the lights on. That's great.

0:58.3

But you could just come. And so I figured this out. The audio book is 10 hours. So if you live within a 10 hour drive of New England, you could still getting your car that day.

1:10.6

Listen to the whole thing and then be there for the live podcast. So details about this event will be on our website. Yeah, it'll be coming up. Check back at our website.

1:17.4

Not everything's set in stone, but let's like 7 30 on Tuesday the 6th. And it is a non ticketed free event. But we will have some sort of RSVP systems.

1:26.8

So we make sure we're not under booked over booked that kind of thing. And why do we need to do that? It's true at Hamilton. They just open the doors. People come in.

1:35.1

And I'm not throwing away my shot. All right. Should we start the show? Let's do it.

We're also going to discuss the latest on a bevy of crime cases, real and fictional with updates about in non-Saheads appeal, Bo Burgdahl's legal situation. And of course, the going on in HBO's The Night of Joining me to get all of that done is my true crime co author and real life husband Kevin Flynn. Hello, Kevin.
