This is Monica Perez, and we are here with part four of The Age of Reason by Thomas Payne.

And I've told you before that I was halfway through this like first chapter and thinking,

what did I get myself into this is not not my

I'm not comfortable with this world view if you've been listening to it so far you know it's

Thomas Payne explaining why Christianity makes no sense and the Bible is wrong and he's just apologizing for, you know,

apologizing in the kind of literary sense for being a daist, like thinking there's a creator

who's obvious because creation is and beyond that he doesn't interfere. He has laws and stuff and, you know,

whatever, a lot of his points make sense. But I've been thinking, okay, so this is the position.

I was always taught, really, that the founders were, the founders of this country were deists.

But I am reading this super, talk about uncomfortable, holy moly, this book,

The Occult Renaissance Church of Rome by Michael Hoffman. I had Stephen Ridley on recently

telling me about it. And I think Peter Duke told me about it, Sent me a video and all this. And it just,

this is a book that I've tried to read before and it scares me on like so many levels. It

throws everybody under the bus, including the Catholic Church for hundreds of years. Vatican

2 is nothing compared to what's been going on for hundreds of years, continues to this day.

So if I can read it, I mean, I'm as offended as anybody in this book, but it's a very interesting

book, well documented, really, again, pushes the limits of my comfort zone.

But in it, I happen to find at the top of chapter four, the chapter is called the priest and the platonists, a quote by Thomas Jefferson, which calls into question for me the claim that, or my understanding, that the founders were in agreement with Thomas Payne about the nature of the creator and God and whatever.
