That is a Thomas Paine work.

And if you've listened to the past two parts, you'll know that this is not me reading

this because I agree with him about the nature of God and the error of Christians and Christianity.

But we are getting somewhere with this.

And the main reason is to understand the backdrop, the kind of philosophical, metaphysical viewpoint of the founders of this country.

And I'm when to the extent that Thomas Jefferson or those guys are called daists,

this is daism.

I had a comment from a listener who said it was really just atheism, but they didn't have the nerve.

I don't know.

I mean, he does defend the existence of a creator. It really

focuses on creation. So maybe that was nonsense. I don't know. But that I've heard that before.

That's what Thomas Jefferson believed. And that's what we're looking at here and trying to

understand their point of view, which is an

interesting way to look at the context of the laws that they made. And it's funny because one,

I think it was John Adams, said that this is made for a Christian nation. And regardless of whether

saying that doesn't mean that these guys believed in Christianity were Christians or believed that Christ was the son of God or any of that.

But it may be a reflection of the obvious truth that Christianity does the two things voluntarily, requires the people to voluntarily do the two things that government promises to do by use of force.

And that is control your behavior and engage in charity.

So if you're a Catholic or probably any of the major religions, which encompass more than half of the population on earth, you know you're supposed

to behave and not just ethically, non-criminal, but morally. So you have to go beyond, don't touch
