Hey guys and welcome to episode 127 of the Ocede stories.

And this episode I got on Spencer Gabin.

Now this is a story-based episode, so Spencer is on to share his story and kind of his learnings.

Now I've known Spencer for a little while,

but I got the privilege of meeting him at the ISTEF conference in San Francisco last year.

But yeah, we discussed so many topics in this is packed with

I think useful stuff. You guys can be the judge of that. So we talk about stopping

reassurance, kind of making a pros and cons list of doing the compulsion,

living a value-led life, we talk about exposure, we talk about keeping stress low, how he uses exercise, getting good sleep, having good relationships, saying no to things, all helps him achieve kind of keeping that

stress lower. Having patience when doing exposures is an important one he talks

about journaling both the good and the bad times. We talk about

peers support. He's recently done some training to come a qualified peer support

worker. So we talk about that and the benefits he's learned from doing that training.

He talks about the importance of believing in treatment,

having compassion for yourself.

I absolutely support that message and the importance of connecting with others of OCD so as you can hear from that
