Rally brought out hundreds of thousands of people in Washington DC and time reports

more than 800 rallies happened in cities across the world

protesters were calling for more gun control and policies meant to make school safer

some of the demands include a ban on assault weapons and universal background checks.

In DC, the surviving students from the school shooting in Parkland, Florida spoke to the crowd.

One of the student organizers, Emma Gonzalez, was on stage for six minutes and 20 seconds and stayed completely

silent for some of that time, saying that's how long it took for the shooter to kill 17 people.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s granddaughter also was there and spoke.

And there were plenty of celebrity sightings as well.

are some of the celebs that performed on stage between the speeches.
