We're talking this week about how to survive the storms of life.

Life does have storms, and Psalm 57 gives us an insight into how David survived some of the

storms he experienced.

We've said, first of all, that he was honest about the fact

that he was in a storm. He didn't pretend like it didn't exist. And then secondly, that he took

refuge in God. He said, in you, O God, I will take refuge. Under the shadow of your wings,

I will take refuge until the disaster has passed.

Now David goes on in verse 2 to tell us something else he's going to do in the midst of the storm.

He says, I cry out to God most high, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.

He sends from heaven and saves me rebuking those who hotly pursue me. God sends his love

and his faithfulness. David says, in the midst of the storm, I'm going to cry out to God.

I'm going to lift up my voice. I'm going to cry out for help and tell him that I need him.
