We live in a day where people are made uncomfortable by any claim of truth.

Jesus taught that he himself was the truth and the only way to God, but as he breathed his last on the cross, it seemed like he

would be written off as a fraud.

But Easter Sunday serves as a reminder that God cashes in on all of his promises.

our eyes have been opened to the truth. We now live in the hope of the resurrection, trusting

that we will one day be with him forever.

Well if you have a Bible and I hope you do or maybe somebody around you does

you can look on with and if you don't happen to have one that's fine the verses will be up on the screen

But I want to invite you to open with me to John chapter 20 and while you're turning there I want to welcome those of you who are gathering with us all over Washington and Montgomery

County and Prince William and Loudoun and different micro sites and assisted living centers and then a variety of people in overflow rooms here and other places good to be together in a variety of different locations on Easter and I have prayed that the next few minutes would not be a normal

Easter. I have a concern that for many people, Easter Sunday is kind of like

religious routine.

If we go to church, we hear some songs, we listen to a sermon on the resurrection of Jesus,

maybe spend some time with friends or family, and then go back to life as normal

on Monday.
