Summary

To be candid, I have never been a fan of “New Year’s Resolutions”, as I believe they create more resistance towards achieving your short-term and long-term goals. We need to be consistent and persistent in pursuit of our potential, which is why I prefer to set New Day Resolutions instead. Rather than a year-long approach, taking things day by day allows us to build coherence. The lesson of coherence has two simple parts: remember to do something, and actually do it. By setting New Day Resolutions and cohering to them, we make prioritization for the day’s goals much easier, and those priorities will take into account our mid-term and long-terms goals, too. 0:00.0	Why new year resolutions don't work is because they work in the speed of thought.
0:06.0	It's a great idea, but they don't work in the speed of light.
0:11.0	This is the flavor.
0:12.0	The three things I've learned in this year is number one that appreciation adds value to everything.
0:17.0	Not in a zero sum game, but appreciation adds on to.
0:22.0	So when you appreciate or add value to something, it doesn't take away from something.
0:27.0	There's no quid pro quo and giving and receiving and witnessing.
0:31.0	It's simply just adding on to limitlessness and infinity.
0:35.0	And the acknowledgement of this year, especially with the breakfast of champions,
0:40.0	to acquire the knowledge of what we have by giving it away, by receiving it and witnessing it,
0:46.0	by acknowledging it because we lose it.
0:49.0	Maybe someone manipulated or stole it from us.
0:51.0	Regardless when we don't have it anymore, that's how we acquire the knowledge of what we've had.
0:57.0	In this expansive, accelerated universe that we're living in,
1:01.0	that is not a zero sum game of loss and win, not a comparison, a judgment,
1:06.0	not a thief of joy.
1:08.0	And then finally, the most important thing as we get into this idea of the new year,
1:14.0	and I'm going to talk about new day, but the new year is the most important lesson of asking.
1:20.0	See, when you get comfortable that when you ask for more,
1:24.0	you're just adding on to the universe, not taking away from someone or something or someone else.
1:30.0	So I think it's a great shift here in the new year and the new day to be able to do that.
