It says for the purposes of this chapter and we're in chapter 24 if you go into

chapter 21 of the tax code and search for a definition of wages,

where it says, for the purposes of this chapter, meaning Chapter 1, wages means you don't find it. It's not there.

So you can't use it. But the IRS just uses wages in a generic term like,

well, you earn money from your labor and therefore you have to pay tax on it. Well, not

when you go step by step through the statute, you don don't because everything that's on your

W-2 comes from subtitle C you can't even use that I mean that they're getting even

more complicated on their tax forms now I don't know if we've seen them show

you this one so here's an older tax form. It just says this is from

2021 so line one says wages salaries tips attach form W2s. The new ones are cutting

that all altogether just says total amount from form W-2.

It's scratching out the term wages and salaries and everything altogether.

But when you look at this now and you go back, say why would you put anything from a W2 on a form 1040 all of

this information comes from subtitle C this has nothing to do with income taxes.
