Hi guys, welcome back to step by step with me, Shelby Church.

Today's episode, we're going to talk about comparison and strategies to not do it because

0:15.4

I have kind of found myself in the comparison trap lately.

0:18.6

I feel like I was on a really good role, feeling creatively

0:21.9

inspired, working on these brand deals. And, you know, it's an ebb and a flow. Sometimes I'm

0:26.9

feeling that sometimes not really. I don't have complete control over when I'm working with brands

0:32.7

and I finished up a bunch of projects. I felt not totally like burned out by it, but maybe a little bit.

0:40.2

1:24.9

But now we compare ourselves to, I don't know, people we went to high school

1:29.4

with. Like, we're not really meant to compare ourselves to this many people, but I do think it is

1:33.5

kind of natural to compare. It can be kind of motivational sometimes. But I think for the most part,

1:41.6

people have a negative association with comparison. I know I definitely

1:45.0

do. It's just anytime I'm doing it, I don't think it makes me feel better. And so I try to not. I really try to

1:52.3

reframe it. Well, yeah, it's not exactly that I try to not because I think it's normal and it's going to happen.

1:59.0

And I think I'm a good person to speak on this
