Hello, Mamas. I'm talking about something a little bit heavy today. So if you're not in the mood for that, maybe this is not the video for you.

And to start off with a lighthearted anecdote, thinking about when, uh, thinking about in 2020, when people would post a picture of their food and put

trigger warning food. So, okay, anyways, uh, now to the, now to the heavy stuff. I wasn't going

to talk. I was going to talk about this, this very exact thing in the exact same way exactly a year ago to this day pretty much um

there was the same kind of issue happening and for whatever reason i just didn't want to talk

about i just uh felt it i think it felt too dark but i think what i want to say must be said

when you look at chwick Boseman before he died, his body was noticeably thinner.

He had looked very unwell.

And instead of a caring, empathetic response from the internet people were

like posting all sorts of like uh just nasty nasty nasty things about his

appearance like speculating on why he was sick people were like making jokes that he

might have AIDS or something like that. Um,

it was just, it was so disgusting. And then it turned out to be horrible. He died of cancer. There's a

very strange way that the internet goes about, uh, talking about people's appearances and specifically their bodies online and it goes

both ways okay like on one hand if you're above average weight like as we all know like so many

in so many cases you're treated as like incompatible with the beauty standard and society i i don't like like, I'm not, like, saying anything groundbreaking here that, like,

um, plus size people do not have it easy in so many different ways, like,

like, even beyond media, like, duh.

Um, but specifically what I want to talk about today is the phenomenon of how people are treated

when they're below average weight, when they are kind of in the territory of what some would

consider to be an eating disorder.

And also, just the whole concept of people seeing someone's body and like making assumptions
