It's Friday, September 5, 2014. From slate, it's the GIST I'm Mike Pasca. So I've been

thinking about a lot of the things that you know I've been thinking about rushes,

incursion into Ukraine, beating back ISIS. The so-called Muslim love jihad, the Hindus

are complaining about in India. This is where Muslims will marry the Hindu daughters, convert

them to Islam. Okay, yeah, sure. I'm also fascinated by BP maybe having to pay $18 billion

for spilling that oil in the Gulf.

Now there's Venezuela's three-tiered monetary exchange system. Kind of crazy, but what

I really, really have been thinking about is this.

It's Taylor Swift's new song. People hate the talented, pretty Taylor Swift.

She's so likable, you just can't like her. Plus, I think a lot of the people who don't

like her have a pretty strong feeling that she stole their boyfriends. Taylor Swift,

Jihad. So even though I'm not an anti-teller

rarer, I don't think this song is any good. It's cliché. It's cliché and it's orchestration.
