U.S. stocks retreated today as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East sent oil prices higher.

The NASDAQ led the decline with a drop of 0.9%. The S&P 500 fell 0.6%, while the Dow slipped 0.3%. Investors weighed a weak GDP estimate showing growth of

only 0.7%. Rising crude prices followed news of Iranian attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

Among individual companies, Adobe shares fell nearly 8% this afternoon. The software provider announced that its longtime

chief executive will step down. Investors were also disappointed by the company's latest

artificial intelligence revenue. Meta Platform's shares fell roughly 4% today. Reports indicate

the company delayed the rollout of its new artificial intelligence model.

Alta Beauty shares slid more than 14% after the retailer issued a weak outlook.

The company expects slower annual growth and disappointing earnings for the year.

And Sentinel One shares rose over 5% following its latest quarterly report. The cybersecurity company saw revenue jump 20% despite
