U.S. stocks climbed today with investors weighing solid bank earnings and comments from President

Trump regarding Chinese tariffs. The S&P 500, the Dow, and NASDAQ, each gained half a percent.

The rally followed jitters about regional banks that had hit the market a day

earlier. In other markets, most global indexes fell while oil prices stabilized. Among individual

companies, American Express shares advanced 7 percent after the credit card giant posted higher

profit and revenue. Fifth third third, Ban Corp stock rose

1% after posting a higher quarterly profit report. But the Cincinnati lender raised its provision

for credit losses and said its charge-off ratio worsened. Truest financial shares gained almost

4% after the bank also recorded stronger profit and revenue, fueled by strong

fee income growth. And shares of Novo Nordisk fell 6% in Denmark after President Trump

floated that the price for its flagship weight loss drug, OZempic, could be, quote, much
