An escalating global trade war sparked another big market sell-off today.

All three major U.S. stock indexes plunged, but the Dow tanking more than 2,200 points

at closing.

A 10% tariff on most goods coming into the U.S. will go into effect tomorrow, with even

higher tariffs slated for next Wednesday.

China struck back with 34% tariffs on all imports from the U.S. starting next Thursday.

On Truth Social, President Donald Trump said, quote, China played it wrong.

They panicked.

Cambodia said it would lower tariffs on American exports after Trump announced a 49% reciprocal

tariff on Cambodian imports. Meanwhile, gamers eager to place orders for the new Nintendo Switch

2 console will have to wait a bit longer, while the company says it'll quote, assess the

potential impact on tariffs.

And some American shrimpers are cheering these tariffs on, as the industry has struggled to compete

against cheap imports. A.C. Cooper Jr., president of the Louisiana Shrimp Association, spoke to CNN.

If it goes up, so be it. We're losing our way of life anyway. It doesn't matter anymore.

So we continue on the road and keep losing fishermen. We're not going to have an industry anyway.
