We begin the caravan this week with hopeful news that SAG's long national nightmare appears to be over.

As you no doubt recall, the Screen Actors Guild has been trying to better the TV and theatrical contracts signed by the other guilds last year. The result is that the biggest

actors union has had no contract since June. But that hasn't kept the members from acting out,

a drama worthy of one of Shakespeare's lesser works. To make a long, long story shorter,

last week, moderate members of the SAG board managed to oust their longtime hardline executive director Doug Allen.

And as a result, new talks with producers have been set for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The expectation is that SAG will end up signing a contract that looks a lot like the one signed by the writers, directors,

and the other actors union months and months ago.

My favorite line from the last act of this dromedy was made by SAG's controversial

president Alan Rosenberg.

He called the ouster of Doug Allen by the duly elected members of SAG's board, undemocratic.

In more serious news, Mickey Rourke's WrestleMania Smackdown has been smacked down.

The star of the Oscar-nominated The Wrestler was reportedly going to grapple with WWE star Chris Jericho at

WrestleMania 25 in Houston on April 5th, according to the Houston Chronicle. Aside from the mind-numbing
