Okay, I'm going to begin reading John 1 because it's my favorite chapter in the Bible.

And then I'll have them read some other verses.

All right.

In the beginning was the Word.

And the Word was with God.

The Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through Him.

And without Him, nothing was made that was made.

In Him was life. And the life was the light of men. I can't read

this chapter without feeling the power of God. And the light shines in the darkness, and

the darkness did not comprehend it or overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John,

which, by the way, the Greek word for John Ione is grace.

I bet you never thought of John the Baptist's ministry as a grace-filled ministry,

but to God it is.

This man came for a witness,

to bear witness of the light,

that all through him might believe.

He was not that light,

but was sent to bear witness of that light.

That was the true light which gives light to every man
