Don't worry, this is not an episode that is going to badger you about becoming a vegetarian or a vegan. Indeed, today's guest is quite the reverse. He's one of the

most important advocates for hunting in the United States. Indeed, he's the man who got Joe

Rogan interested in hunting. We were connected via our common friendship with Mr. Rogan,

and once I started watching and reading Steve Ronella's work, I was struck by his

depth, his humanity, his sense of humor, the kind of guy who I just instantly want to be friends

with. He is the host of a television show on a podcast called Meat Eater, and he's written 10 books

dealing with wildlife and hunting.

And I wanted to get inside the brain of someone who is committed to an enterprise that is so

alien to me as an effete in the city, latte sipping, chardonnay, swilling young man who wouldn't know a gun from his ass.

And Steve has incredible ideas about ecology, about the natural world, about the morality

of eating meat. I try to get into it with him. I try to wrestle with these ideas. And I try to

understand what motivates the hunter. Steve is totally fascinating. I hope you
