Summary
I know that you have lofty and ambitious goals. I do too. I also know that, sometimes, the objectives we desire may seem out of reach, if not impossible. There is a myriad of reasons we may feel this way but regardless of the reasons, they hinder our realized potential.
Today, I am joined by a man who has not only studied making the impossible achievable, he's spent his life immersed and surrounded by the men who are doing it. His name is Steven Kotler and he is the author of The Art of Impossible. Today we talk about why achievement is an art, not a science, how to develop and trigger your "flow state," why everyone is wired for peak performance, the power of novelty, and how to create the impossible.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
- The peak performance mind

- Flow hacking

STEVEN KOTLER
My guest today is Steven Kotler. I have literally been working on getting him to join us on the podcast for years and today, that becomes a reality.
If you're not familiar with Steven, he is the author of his latest book, The Art of Impossible, Stealing Fire, The Rise of Superman, and ten other books. He's an award-winning journalist and the Executive Director of the Flow Research Collective. He's been featured in the Wall Street Journal, TIME, and The Harvard Business Review.
He's an extremely fascinating individual and extremely intelligent. Gents, I think you're going to enjoy this one.
THE IRON COUNCIL
Gentlemen, I don't think it's any surprise to you that we've started to see a huge crackdown of sorts by the technology giants on anyone who doesn't toe the line with what is acceptable in the Doctrine of Popular Culture.
And, if you've been following us for any amount of time, you know that we talk about – the restoration of masculinity – isn't a favorite subject of theirs.
With all that said, we've created a closed-frame brotherhood of like-minded men where not only can we have the real conversations that need to be had, but we can also challenge either other necessary to do the self-work required to lead ourselves and our families well.
If you're interested in banding with other men who believe the way you do and are actively working to make themselves better in all ways, join us inside the Iron Council.
