Lee Kwan was the founder and leader of Singapore.

He was asked a question once about the character of the Chinese autocrat, Xi Jinping,

the leader of a nation of 1.4 billion people.

And surprisingly, he compared him to Nelson Mandela. You see, he explained,

this international statesman respected all over the world. Xi Jinping, like Mandela, has a tremendous

capacity of self-restraint, to be unaffected by the bad things that happen in life, to be

unaffected by the hardship, to have inside of them a deep equilibrium, a calmness. And so it will be

Donald Trump, the opposite in character in every way of Xi Jinping, who will

be going to sit in Beijing, an American president on his heels, a man who thinks he is a lion,

but the world increasingly sees as a mouse. When he travels to Beijing, leaving tomorrow,

Donald Trump will be the weakest American president to ever set foot on Chinese soil. And the Chinese

will appreciate that they are hosting the architect of a national suicide

and the lynchpin in the Chinese rise to global preeminence in the 21st century.

Donald Trump is their golden calf, the hope of the Chinese nation, that this will be the 21st century.
