NFL Free Agency does not begin until March 13th with the open negotiating period, but the 49ers projected losses are already stacking up.

On Saturday, reliable kicker Robbie Gold made it known he will be playing somewhere else in

2023 after six seasons with the 49ers.

He is scheduled for unrestricted free agency and last week general manager John Lynn said he did not

envision the team using the franchise tag this season. The 49ers are evaluating all draft

eligible kickers right now.

Gold joins tackle Mike McLinchy, linebacker Azizal Shire,

and of course quarterback Jimmy Garoplo as players the 49ers do not expect to resign as unrestricted free agents.

As free agency approaches, where do the 49ers and the League in general stand with their

offensive line? Steve Palazzolo, of Pro Football Focus, lends his perspective,

while Jennifer Lee Chan and I discuss why offensive linemen appear to be routinely over-mashed against their opposition.

All right, this is 49ers talk brought to by Bigo tires and Jennifer I always think of all that's. I'm Matt Meeco. She's Jennifer Lee Chan. I always think of the NFL scouting combine is really the first true date on the

end of the NFL calendar for the following season because that's when things start to happen.

A lot of it kind of behind the scenes.

But one thing that became public on Saturday was a Robbie Gold is now telling people, myself included, that he does

not plan to be with the 40 hours.

Actually, he didn't put it that way. Pretty much he will be kicking somewhere else next year. I would be a little bit less definitive that he will definitely be kicking somewhere else because the 49ers have some say in this. It didn't sound like they were going to use the franchise tag on him, but you never know how things are going to shake out, but let's just put it this way. He fully intends to be kicking somewhere else in 2023.

Yeah, that says a lot, just the words he used, what it implies. He is actually, I looked up the salaries. He is actually tied for fourth with two other kickers. So the only three kickers that make more money than him are

Chris Boswell from the Pittsburgh Steelers. He makes 9.9 million. He is the highest paymaker in the league.

That's a lot. Young Wanna Koo from Atlanta makes $ million dollars. He is only 28. Chris Boswell is 31.
