Automotive News. Today's guest is Steve Kiefer, the chairman of the

Kiefer Foundation, an organization working to eliminate distracted driving through technology,

policy, and by spreading awareness of what's become a deadly problem. But first today, my colleague Molly Boegon joins me for a look at

having me on Pete. You bet. You've been busy this week and I wanted to ask you about a couple of stories that you wrote.

First and foremost, perhaps, you took a look at recent investments into the mobility realm from venture capitalists

and found mobility might be a bit of a tough cell right now.

What's the atmosphere out there?

Yeah, that's right.

So Pitchbook did an analysis of venture capital investment in the mobility space in the first quarter and found that basically the number of deals is down year over year and the value of of the

value of the deals is down year over year. There was some variability

quarter to quarter because of one especially large deal

with IM Motors, the Chinese Electric Vehicle Company that
