Summary

Though hurricane-strength winds are calming down in Southern California, firefighters are still working to contain several fires that have been raging for over a week. Though there's hope an end to the flames is in sight, Californians are now focusing on the long road of recovery they could be facing for years to come. FOX News Contributor Steve Hilton discusses why a comprehensive recovery plan is crucial for California and how, with proper leadership, work can be done to prevent natural disasters like this from becoming catastrophic. 1:20.9

their lives, their livelihood, their assets, their kids' schools. And every memory they've had of once great places, California should

1:31.9

not be like this. People should not have to suffer as they are. And so much of this was bound to

1:39.7

happen. It was like California was on a disastrous freight train heading right toward this conclusion.

So what do we do now?

1:47.9

I mean, that's what we have to focus on.

1:49.9

We can point fingers and I'm happy to do it and I will for a long, long time.
