It's part of my series of interviews with the candidates for US soccer president.

I'm joined by Steve Gans a Boston-based lawyer who has a long record in the game. We talk about Gans' platform,

I press him on how he'll find a path to victory, and we talk about his opinions on the

problems and potential solutions in American soccer.

I know what's going on in this country and that is that we are creating players who are technically better than they used to be,

but they come out of it with no joy.

And you cannot create great national team players if kids

are losing and young people are losing their passion for this sport.

All that and more coming up. Our guest today is U.S. Soccer presidential candidate Steve Gans.

Steve who was one of very few candidates to announce he was joining the race

before the U.S US Men's Failure to

qualify for the World Cup is a partner in a Boston law firm who

specializes in corporate sports and employment law. Over the past 25 years he has been involved in a variety of soccer things

including World Cup 94's Boston venue and consulting work with MLS teams and

teams in the English Premier League. He has worked in areas from youth

soccer to the professional game including administrative work and even a cup of

coffee on the field with the M-I-S-L Baltimore Blast whose star player Stans Domenkovich was my favorite villain as a young

M-I-S-L fan.
