Hi everyone and thank you for tuning in to the business, a man who first made his name on two comedic TV programs, Comedy Central's The Daily Show,

from 1999 through 2004, and NBC's The Office from 2005 through 2011, and who has also done outstanding work in films of all sorts.

From comedies like 2003's Bruce Almighty, 2004's Anchor Man, The Legend of Ron Burgundy, 2005's the 40-year-old Virgin, and 2011's Crazy Stupid Love.

Todromedies, like 2006's Little Miss Sunshine, 2007's Dan in Real Life, 2012's Hope Springs, 2013's The Way Way Back, 2015's The Big Short, and

2017's Battle of the Sexes and Last Flag Flying, to straight up dramas like 2014's Fox Catcher and most recently

beautiful boy a film unveiled at September's Toronto International Film Festival and released in

theaters Friday by Amazon that was adapted from the true story of a man

played by Corel fighting to help his son played by Oscar nominee Timothy Shalome

as the son becomes ensnared by addiction.

I'm talking of course about the once Oscar nominated, six time Emmy nominated,

eight time SAG Award nominated, and ninetime Golden Globe nominated and one-time

Golden Globe winning Steve Corel. Over the course of our conversation at the

London West Hollywood Hotel, the 56-year-old and I discussed a wide range of topics, including how improvisational

comedy became an early passion, how he wound up at the Daily Show, and why he decided to make himself

the butt of his jokes while there, How his small part in Ankerman led to his movie

star making part in the 40-year-old Virgin, which in turn saved the fledgling American adaptation of

Ricky Jervais's hit British sitcom The Office, and what initially motivated

and continues to motivate him to branch out beyond comedy and into darker material,

including Fox Catcher, which resulted in that aforementioned Best Actor

Oscar nomination, and continuing through Beautiful Boy, which could result in another.
