WrestleMania Night 1 is in the books. I thought this was a fabulous WrestleMania. Let's start

with the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin. He defeated Kevin Owens in about 13 minutes in a no-hold

bard match. Following an in-ring segment, Steve Austin stunned Owens for the win.

It was fun. It was good. We, in the crowd, got exactly what we wanted, the hits from Steve

Austin, the entrance, the beers, the stunners, and a Steve Austin win. Steve Austin, at times,

I thought, looked very deliberate in his punches and kicks and in his offense and transitions. Kevin Owens really did fabulous work here. He carried the match.

He sold his ass off. And I have to admit, when Owens hit the stunner towards the end of the

match, I had a moment of Austin's going to lose. And I thought that because Austin dominated the middle of the match,

and Austin is old school. And old school wrestlers tend to like going out on their back with a loss.

So 13 minutes of a match. All in all, I thought this was really good, basic, basic storytelling.

Austin was, again, really deliberate in his moves.

Owens made Austin look like a million bucks.

Credit to Kevin Owens for really long playing a story with Steve Austin.

And Kevin Owens is the one who got Steve Austin out of retirement

and got him into an actual pro wrestling match, something no one else could do.

Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE. He was the surprise Vince McMahon opponent for Seth Rawlins.

Cody Rhodes won with a crossroads, the fourth of the match. It was the third at the end of the match between the second and

third crossroads. Cody did a flip-flop fly elbow on Rollins as a tribute to his father Dusty.
