Step parents have always gotten a bad rap. From early fairy tales, we heard stories of evil stepmothers

who hated and tried to do away with their spouse's children. Of course, we're all familiar with the

abuse and neglect Cinderella suffered at the hands of an evil stepmother, or how Hansel and Gretel
