Maybe you already know Stephen Mitchell, but for those that don't, to introduce this incredible, incredible author and spiritual teacher to you guys.

Stephen Mitchell has written some of the best books that I've read certainly in my life and definitely, definitely, definitely in the last month.

We talk a lot about most of them.

We talk about the gospel according to Jesus, which blew my mind, changed my life.

If you have any interest or baggage or history or curiosity about the historical account of Jesus and what he said and what he probably didn't say.

And listen to that and like a wonderful Zen-leaning analysis of the story of Jesus, it's just incredible.

I've been telling everybody about it and I'm so happy that I got to talk to him about that as well as Stephen's new book, which is called The Way of Forgiveness, which is just beautifully written and a very, very heartfelt and necessary message that just is, we love it.

We love redemption, we love forgiveness. It's a beautiful story.

And again, these are Bible stories told from a Zen-leaning perspective.

So there's no religious agenda. I suppose that's my feeling. There's no agenda in a religious way.

It's just communicating deep spiritual truths in whatever tradition Stephen finds them.

He's also translated the Odyssey. He's translated Gilgamesh. He's translated as I've referenced and read from many times on this podcast, The Dow Day Ching.
