Summary

Guest: Oliver Darcy, journalist behind the Status substack.

How much late-night television would you estimate that you watch?

That's Texas State Representative James Tala Rico.

1:08.3

He was supposed to be here, but we were told in no uncertain terms by our

1:13.3

1:18.8

Then I was told in some uncertain terms that not only could I not have him on, I could not mention

1:25.7

me not having him on.

1:28.5

And because my network clearly doesn't want us to talk about this, let's talk about this.

1:35.8

You've probably heard.

1:38.0

Colbert said that he was prohibited by CBS, which broadcast his show, from airing an interview with a Democratic Senate candidate in Texas because it could potentially trigger the equal time rule, which is an old archaic FCC rule that has never been enforced against late-night comedy programs.
