Stephen Clarke has been writing books about France for almost 15 years.

How are we pronouncing Mird when we're mixing it with English?

When you say Moud.

So when you talk about it, you say you're in the Moud.

In the Moud, yeah, because I actually wrote a book called Dial M for Moud.

And if you say Dial M for Mird, it almost sounds like the book that I ripped the title off of Dial M for Mourder.

So it's like Dial M for mead, it's meand.

You know, I kind of pronounce it,

when I'm speaking in English, I pronounce

it, well, sort of anglicise

the French pronunciation only slightly.
