I'm excited about our conversation today.

It's been almost two and a half years since we've spoken on camera.

Once again, today I have, as my adversary, as my partner, as my conversationalist, as

my friend, Stephen A Smith.

He has a new book out entitled Straight Shooter, a story of second chances and first takes.

I think you're going to love this conversation as we go into our relationship, his relationship

with his father, his rise and fall and rise again to start them.

But first, a few thoughts on the news of the week, story number one, tragedy in Memphis,

injustice in Memphis.

But a systemic problem in Memphis, horrific video released on Friday of five Memphis police

officers beating to death, 29 year old Tyree Nichols, video from Bodycam footage, and

as well, bird's eye view footage off of street lamps and street lights in Memphis show

a beating that resulted in the death of Tyree Nichols.

You can see in this video that five police officers struggled to subdue Tyree Nichols.

I don't know why five seemingly 200 plus pound men had trouble struggling 145 pound Tyree

Nichols to the ground and cuffing him.
