Banquets can be scary, but also fun.

The other day, I stayed at a small Japanese inn.

It was in an out-of-the-way area with few visitors, so it was quiet, and I liked that.

The staff were attentive, the garden beautiful, and the rooms clean.

It was a fantastic inn with no complaints from me.

The inn was located in the mountains, so there was nowhere to go out at night.

By the time the clock hit midnight, the inn was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

I got into bed early, but sometime around 2 a.m. I woke up.

I couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to explore the quiet inn a little.

When I opened the door to my room, the hall was pitch black, and all the lights were off.
