How do we attack a draft slot at the back of the first round?

0:15.2

That's what we'll be talking about today on stealing bananas.

0:18.4

I'm Ben Gretchen from my newsletter at benggresh.com with me, as always is Sean Siegel. You can find out of his great workover at Rotovis. And Sean, today we're going to start with, or spend basically the whole show, I think, on this round one to turn this year. That is very interesting. We've talked about on the show a little bit. I just got back from another trip to enter a bunch more underdog drafts.

0:39.1

I ended up hitting this time around, first time around a lot of 101s, a lot of 105s that I was excited about some 112s and 111s, which I kind of think are interesting.

0:49.2

I avoided the 108-19 range.

0:51.8

We talked a little bit about this a month or a month and a half ago when we were talking through some of my initial thoughts on the underdog drafts that I thought that was a tricky range, but I, you know, I got lucky to not get a lot of those. I got a lot of those here. And you and I have talked a little bit about some of these players, but I got to the point where I had to start making a lot of decisions on players that I have some question marks about. So I want to get your thoughts on it. I want to talk to you about it. It's very topical for me right now, but I think it's a really tricky range of the drafts. Even at the end of the first round, I think it's interesting because I think there's about 14 really sort of intriguing players so you can double tap at 1213,

1:27.9

some some pretty intriguing ones.

1:30.4

That 108 109 were some guys that we've really loved for a long time, Stefan Diggs,

1:35.7

AJ Brown, you got Dijon Robinson in there as this rookie superstar running back, but also in

1:42.9

an Atlanta situation that was not great last year for Kyle Pitts

1:47.7

and some of these other players that we think are superstars, it doesn't mean it's going to be

1:51.4

bad for Bijan.

1:52.2

Obviously, he's a different player.

1:53.4

He's a running back.

1:54.3

That's a run situation.

1:56.2

But I have at least a little bit of concern about the fact that Arthur Smith basically gets joy out of telling the fantasy community that he doesn't give a crap about fantasy football.

2:06.4

Certainly, I don't think he'll have any issues going to other running backs if for any reason he might need to do that at some point or feel that he needs to do that or what have you.

2:15.6

So I have a little bit of concern about Bejon as well, relative to what his profile is as this prospect. You know, we kind of talk through these things as two different ways. The player prospects and then the sort of projections angle, and these are, you know, Bejohn concerns I'm already jumping into are sort of more the projections concerns more than the prospect concerns. But the actual player, obviously, no flaws in his prospect profile. I've talked about that. So it's a really tricky range there. And then you get into CD Liam and you get into, you know, the youngsters, Garrett Wilson and Ammoner-Rost, St. Brown, who I love. And I'm very excited about taking those guys. and I'm starting to question whether I should be taking them at 108, you know, because I want to get more exposure to them.

2:35.4

So it is,

2:36.7

uh, excited about taking those guys and I'm starting to question whether I should be taking them at 108 you know because I want to get more exposure to them so it is a lot to consider in that range

2:58.4

and it's interesting to think through how you have to set up the rest of your draft I do think

3:02.6

108 109 are probably the worst spots you can draft in this year.
