Handbike accident while competing in a road race in Italy.

Alex was my guest on last week's show and anyone who's listened to our conversation

will be in no doubt as to his courage and resilience.

And to hear what happened to him just two days after our show went out was sickening.

As we release this week's show, Alex remains in hospital in a serious condition.

His prognosis, uncertain. I have everything cross for you my friend,

I wish you a swift and full recovery and I'm sure all of you out there feel the same way.

As for this week's show, my guest is none other than Stefan Johansson,

F1's 80 spec super-sweed. I've long been a fan of his since first seeing him race

at the 1983 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. That race was his Grand Prix debut and I remember

loving his black helmet and beefy looking spirit Honda. He outqualified reigning world champion

KK Rosberg too and no one does that by accident. His career was to be one of highs and lows.

He scored 12 podiums and he deserved to win several races.

But Ferrari team orders or Lady Luck always intervened at the crucial moment.
