The Pittsburgh Steelers ranked dead last in run defense in 2021 and need to fix that problem to be a great defense in 2022. That group along with Cam Heyward, and the potential return of Tyson Alualu, could be the key to open up several other opportunities for the Steelers. Better run defense means better pass rush opportunities for sacks from T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, as well as better chances for the secondary with Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ahkello Witherspoon, Terrell Edmunds, Levi Wallace and Cam Sutton to make plays on more predictable pass plays.
